In our training program sessions we had with Erasmus+ for Inclusive Adventure Education - From Theory to Practice were set in Maltepe, Istanbul, Turkey.  We get to learn more in depth about the meaning of Adventure Education as well as an introduction to the role of the facilitator in depth.  On our very first day, there’s the first challenge for all participants to think of how each in everyone could make a short introduction of their name within 30 seconds, the creativity that could be made when meeting new groups of people / participants.  During these five days of training I felt I got many opportunities to practice my performance in terms of the thinking process and an ideal of a role as a facilitator.

On our first day, it was more of a warm up sessions and during the first night we get to hear about the evaluation of the past project, regarding Adventure Education activities,  organized by all of different countries.  The structure of the tasks has some slight changes including the time table and inter-culture night, that was given a new presentation task, which I felt it make the activity for ICN more interesting and more creative.  Some name games were introduced as there were new participants who joined in for the first time from different countries group.  Then the second day, we were introduced to Zone system that divided into three section; Comfort zone, Stretch zone and Panic zone and to explore more of each definition.  Then there were the landmine game where every participants get to pairs up and perform the task.  The task was simply to get each partner / pair to walk through a landmine that our facilitator set up with obstacle objects like paper cups, balloons and chairs, etc.  One member get to close their eyes and walk the landmine listening to the instructions given by only their partners but there were not just one partner but in many pairs at a time.  This game practice the participants to be both self-aware and keep attention to their partners and stepping out of the comfort zone a little.  After that the walking competition, the challenge got larger into groups of two walking line competing one another team from the opposite direction with just one leading person of each to guide the walking line.   The day that follows, all participants get to challenge themselves with dance routines, given the choice of many different music genre prepared by the facilitator team.  The challenge of this dance task for me was, the cooperation and creativity can be made to choreograph the dance routine differently from the original and having a group members from all different background.   Some of the members knows how to move and for some who does not and the creativity that each team make rely on each member who willing to participate to put in thoughts of clothing and style, choreography and ability to expose themselves in to front of the crowds, that was fun and challenging.  And there were the theatrical task for the 

participant team up and to participate in taking acting role, each group get to choose a scenario in different situations and outcomes in which role of participant who create such issue and how the facilitator solve these problems in different outcomes both in a positive and negative solutions.  Then there was a task that is about in my initial understanding and the thinking process for the role of a facilitator.  Sometimes, the simple task can turn into a confusion when one given orders is unclear.  I was volunteered to take part in a task with the headlines about the process in the role of the facilitator.  The task got me in a little stretch zone for the moment as I did not understand clearly enough of what I need to think about as the key to make a pitch on the flip chart, somehow, after listening to the group and Ilona, I started to get the idea and got through the a brief conclusion in the part with some nerve. 

Overall, throughout the program this time being held in Istanbul, I felt I got to a stage of an awareness for putting in more thoughts, to learn to be a good listener as well as to lead, I’d try to provide some input and effort to make the group to build stronger and better communications.  Part of the activity we had, I had both unexpected challenge which I felt it was a great idea such as the Inter-Culture Night, some stressed of a misunderstanding in a task like pitching flip chart on “Participants” as part of Role of the Facilitator, but ends up with a good new knowledge.  I wish I could have had more activity outside of the conference room and at the same time, the given task inside the room had challenged me in a way that Adventure Education is the ability to be creative in methodology and makes education more interesting and fun that somehow grasp the attention by the participants.  During the program, I get to see number of different activities from other countries which helped broader my vision in creating new tasks and environment.  For example the theatrical warm up, introduced by the German team, where the participants get to express their emotions in the crowds and in front of audience as well as being an observer or not giving attention.  Also the “Atom” activity in which considered to be a good example for breaking up groups into randoms.  The Romanian Team shows an interesting task on reforming object such as a piece of paper that could turn into a large size circle that could fit people up to more than ten with some certain rules of reforming a piece of paper.  Throughout my sessions in Adventure Education with Eramus+ had again been a great learning experience and exchanging new ideas, making new friends from South East Asia and Middle Europe region.   I’m glad I was a part of the training program.  My gratitude to Eramus+ team and VSA.

วันที่ 3 พ.ค.2562 ทีม VSA Thailand ( ก้อง ต้น นก แพร์) เดินทางออกจากสุวรรณภูมิ – บาร์เรน – อิสตันบูล เพื่อเข้าร่วมการอบรม Adventure Education: From Theory to Practice (ครั้งที่ 2) ที่ตุรกี การเดินทางด้วยสายการบิน Gulf Air ของพวกเราครั้งแรก ok มาก ที่นั่งดี (leg room ไม่อึดอัดเกินไป และสภาพเครื่องบินใหม่ โดยเฉพาะบนเครื่องบินมีภาพยนตร์ให้เลือกเยอะมาก (ขอแนะนำเรื่อง Pad Man สำหรับคนชอบหนังอินเดีย หรือหนังอิงเรื่องจริง หนังชวนดู ชวนลุ้นตั้งแต่ต้นจนจบ) แวะพักเครื่องอีกร่วม 8-9 ชม. ที่สนามบินบาร์เรน (ห้องน้ำสะอาดมาก แอร์ก็เย็นมาก เมื่อไม่รู้จะทำอะไร ก็นอนรอเวลากันเลย )

พวกเราก็เดินทางมาถึงอิสตันบูล นั่งรถตู้ที่ทางทีมผู้จัดติดต่อไว้ให้ คนขับหลงทาง หาโรงแรม Elite Hotel ไม่เจออีกเกือบ 1 ชม. พวกเราก็มาถึงโรงแรมเกือบค่ำ อากาศที่อิสตันบูลกำลังดี ไม่ได้หนาวจนเกินไป (เหมือนอบรมที่บัลกาเรียครั้งแรก) ครั้งนี้คนชอบอากาศหนาว ๆ กำลังสบายน่าจะชอบเลยทีเดีย โรงแรมอยู่ไม่ไกลจากชายทะเล เมื่อเสร็จสิ้นการอบรมในแต่ละวัน หลายคนจึงได้โอกาสมาเดินเล่นตามชายทะเลเมดิเตอร์เรเนียน

การอบรมครั้งนี้ต่อเนื่องจากครั้งแรก ( มี.ค. 2562) ที่บัลกาเรีย จึงได้พบเพื่อนร่วมอบรมที่คุ้นเคยหลายคน ไม่ว่าจะเป็น Anna, Irina (Germany) Nick & Florentina ( Romania) Surendre (Nepal) Elis (Bulgaria) Sepha (Turkey) และมีเพื่อนร่วมอบรมใหม่ๆ รวมผู้อบรมทั้งหมด 25 คน จาก 7 ประเทศ (ทีมอินโดนีเซีย มาใหม่หมดเลย และยังอยู่ในวัยมหาวิทยาลัย ไม่ว่าจะเป็น Upin, Hafik, Aldo & Farjar) บรรยากาศการอบรมไม่เคร่งเครียด เน้นการทำกิจกรรมกลุ่ม และแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นกันในแต่ละทีม แต่ละประเทศ แต่ละคนได้ทำความรู้จักกันอย่างรวดเร็ว ด้วยเกมจาก Ilona, Facilitator หลัก ของโครงการ เราสามารถจำชื่อกันได้ภายใน 2 วัน และสนิทสนมกันเร็ว เพราะอยู่ด้วยกันตั้งแต่ เช้า – ค่ำ 

เราได้เรียนการเป็น facilitator ที่ดี ร่วมกันคิดเรื่องบทบาท ลักษณะ และการจัดการความขัดแย้ง ความเสี่ยงที่อาจเกิดขึ้น ก่อน-ระหว่าง – หลัง การทำกิจกรรม ได้เรียนรู้การทำ local training ของแต่ละประเทศที่ทำกันก่อนจะมาอบรมครั้งนี้ และช่วยกันติ ชม สะท้อนสิ่งที่ได้เรียนรู้ การอบรมครั้งนี้ต้องตื่นตัวอยู่ตลอดเวลา เพราะมีกิจกรรมให้ทำตลอดทั้งในทีมประเทศเดียวกัน เช่นการจัด Intercultural Night ที่แต่ละทีมได้รับโจทย์ 3 ข้อ เลือกทำเพียง 1 ข้อ 

1. With 10 Euro., how can it spend in your own country in a day? 

2. Explain 3 Do’s & Don’t in your country. 

3. Theatrical play of situations in your country. 

นอกจากนี้แต่ละประเทศยังจัดโต๊ะแสดงอาหาร ของที่ระลึก ที่นำมาจากประเทศตนเอง หลาย ๆ ประเทศ (เช่น โรมาเนีย เนปาล เยอรมัน) มักมีไวน์เป็นตัวชูโรง 

เรื่องน่ารู้เกี่ยวกับเยอรมันคือ 

1. คนในเยอรมันไม่นิยมตั้งชื่อลูก Adolf อันเนื่องมาจากชื่ออดีตผู้นำ Adolf Hitler ซึ่งก็เคยมีความนิยมตั้งชื่อนี้ก่อนสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 

2. คนในเยอรมันไม่ได้เป็น party lover อย่างที่เราคิด เพราะเรื่องงานวันรุ่งขึ้นก็สำคัญ ดังนั้นเมื่อไปงาน party ก็จะไม่อยู่นานมาก 

แต่ละประเทศมีของมาแจกเพื่อน ๆ มากมาย ของจากเนปาลเป็นผ้าพันคอ แถมพระ 1 องค์ สองครั้งแล้วที่เพื่อนเนปาลเอาไวไว (บะหมี่กึงสำเร็จรูป) มาแกะซอง ให้เพื่อน ๆ ได้กินเล่น (เคยกินไวไวแบบนี้ตอนเด็กๆ เมื่อโตมีคนบอกว่าเวลาจะกินต้องต้มก่อน เลยเลิกกินไป แต่มันก็อร่อยดีนะ เราเลยขอที่ยังไม่แกะซองมากินเล่นเป็น snack) 

วันสุดท้ายหลังจากรับเกียรติบัตร Youth Pass และประเมินโครงการเสร็จ ทุกคนได้เข้าไปทัวร์ในเมืองอิสตันบูลฝั่งยุโรป (พื้นที่ 3 % ในขณะที่พื้นที่ที่เหลืออยู่ในทวีปเอเชีย) ฝั่งนี้สวยมาก มัสยิดมากมาย และของขายของที่ระลึกราคาไม่แพง เหมาะแก่การซื้อติดมือกลับไปฝากที่บ้าน 

หากมาตุรกี อย่าลืมมาลองไอศกรีมขึ้นชื่อของที่นี่ ด้วยลีลาของผู้ขายที่กว่าจะให้ไอศกรีมกับลูกค้าได้ ก็จะหลอกล่อจับโคนไอศกรีมไปมา อาจจะแพงกว่าไอติมข้างทางราคาทั่วไปสักหน่อย (120 บาท) แต่สนุกดี มีคนรอคิวเพื่อจะซื้อ และถ่ายรูปมากมาย

ดอกไม้ข้างทางของที่นี่สวยมาก และแมวเร่ร่อนอ้วน ๆ ( free-roaming cat/ street cat /stranded cat/ stray cat) เยอะมาก คนที่นี่น่าจะรักแมว เพราะตามแถวชายทะเลหรือหน้าบ้านจะมีถ้วยใส่น้ำตั้งอยู่ บางบ้าน หรือที่สวนสาธารณะมีอาหารแมวตั้งเอาไว้ด้วย ในเว็บไซต์การท่องเที่ยวตุรกีก็ยังมีแมวเป็นจุดขาย แมวบางพันธุ์ขนสวยมาก เวลาไปขอถ่ายรูปมันก็จะอยู่นิ่ง ๆ ให้ถ่ายแต่โดยดี
